Courance, Lockerby
4th January 1858
Dear Sir,
When your letter of the 1st inst. arrived here I was in Edinr. otherwise I would have answered it sooner.
I now beg to say that I still wish to have my house here named in the Ordnance Survey map, Beechwood. As I fear my hand writing is not at all times very plain, I will, to prevent a mistake, write the name again, as legibly as I can, on the next page.
Capt. R. Stotherd
