024 | The parish of Larbert is in the Presbytery of Stirling, Synod of Perth and Stirling it contains about 4053 Imperial Acres The name Larbert was formerly written Lairbert scheills, Laithbert schiells, and Lethbert scheills, - which signifies the scheills or huts of the man named Lairbert or Laithbert. The parish of Larbert is united quoad sacra to the parish of Dunipace. At present, we speak of Larbert Parish proper, the form of which is nearly eliptical, - the measures of the transverse and conjugate axis being 3 and 3½ miles, while the superficial extent is about the number of Acres mentioned above.
