064; 076; 088 | The Parish of Dingwall, consisting of the Royal Burgh of that name, with an inconsiderable tract of surrounding country, is situated at the western extremity of the Cromarty Firth. It is in the Presbytery of Dingwall and Synod of Ross. The Ph. [Parish] forms nearly an oblong: its northern extremity resting on the base of Ben Wyvis which, stretching in a direction almost south, it descends the futile slope which forms the northern boundary of Strathpeffer. It is bounded on the north by Kiltearn Parish and on the east by the same Ph. [Parish] and the Cromarty Firth on the south by the Ph. [Parishes] Urray and Fodderty (Detached No 2) and on the west by Fodderty Parish in Ross-shire and Fodderty in Cromarty shire. There are no detached portions of this Ph. [ Parish] in any other Ph. [Parish] nor are there any detached parts of this Ph. [Parish] situated in any other Parish. |
