088 | A handsome little town of about 2000 inhabitants situated at the mouth of Strath Peffer on the western confines of the Cromarty Firth. Dingwall was elected into a royal burgh as early as 1207 by Alexander II and continued by charter in 1497 and 1587 by James IV and James VI respectively. The town is well supplied with gas and water, and possesses some very handsome buildings.
