Formerly this was called "Lutonhill", supposed, as stated by the occupier, to be a corruption of Land-on-Hill, as it has been seen written in that form. At present it is invarially called "Hill"only. There is a Public Foot Path from the Public Road close to, and on the south of this farm, which goes to the Parish Road at "Burnside" frace 3. It crosses the "Lesmahagow Railway". |

This is a hill feature on the lands of Millburn, retaining the name to the brae formed by the parish road passing over it. The extent of the brae from the bottom of the feature, at the north - east and south - west bottoms, is shown on the road by a shade on examination trace. The name is well known.
