018.15 | This village name applies to all the scattered houses from the "Old Mill", on the west, to the gate-house or offices leading to "Dalserf House", in the east. There is an Inn, a smithy, and a turnpike gate, on the Glasgow and Lanark T.P. road, in the village. There is no post office here. Dalserf has extensive orchards and vegetable gardens about it. The parish church is situated near the wall which encloses the Holm of Dalserf. The church is an antiquity. A good sized stream, named from the village, passes through the centre of Dalserf. The parish school and the manse are south of the village, the former is on Trace 6 |
