018.13 | A little village surrounded on all sides, except the avon by rising ground. There is a school and a couple of public houses belonging to Millheugh. "About 20 years ago (from 1845) an earthan pot was dug up in the village of Millheugh, containing brass or copper, and silver coins of the reighs of Elizabeth, James, and Charles 1st". New Statistical: Account. On the authority of J. Baxter who dug up the coins, the spot where they were found has been identified on the ground, at the place written "Millheugh is all feued off Raploch Estate, the property of Captain. McNeil Hamilton. There is no smithy here. |
