O. S. [Ordnance Survey] Southampton
7th July 1858

The name "Will Plantation" is written on the Plan of Dalton Parish and "Hetland Plantation" is written on the Plan of "Mouswald Parish" both names refer to the same Plantation See the names on the traces sent herewith - Have the goodness to inform me which name is correct
Will Plantation or Hetland Plantation
The name will be corrected on the Plan at this office
As this Plantation is in two Parishes perhaps the part in each Parish is known by a different name -

for Leut. [Lieutenant] Scott,
[Signed] James McDonald Sergt R. E. [Sergeant Royal Engineers]

Captain Stotherd R_E_ [Royal Engineers]

Both names are applied, but Well Plantation is considered proper, that of Hetland being merely given on account of the wood's proximity to Hetland farm.
