054 | A hill feature covered with wood situated north of Ardtannes. A great number of small mounds or Cairns of stones exist on this hill, probably Ancient British graves containing stone Cists. Formerly the road up the Don crossed this hill. One of the original proprietors of this place having died in England his corpse was met here by the tenantry of the estate and carried by them to the family residence. From this the hill derived its name. Property of the Right Hon. [Honourable] the Earl of Kintore. |

Ordnance Survey - Aberdeen county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Aberdeen, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
