		The Commissioners of Supply by their Decreet bearing date the third day of October One thousand seven hundred and eighty six years ordered the Cumulo Valuation of the Estate of Barochan being Seven hundred and sixty seven pounds thirteen shillings and fourpence - To be divided and stated at the following respective sums of Valuation Vizt [------]	£767.13.4
		The forty shilling land of Barlogan - The thirty three shillings and fourpenny land of Nether Loftfield The twenty six shilling and eight penny land of Kirkton of Killellan The tywenty shilling land of Kirkton of Killellan And the twenty shilling land of Loftfield, being these parts of the said Estate sold to W Spiers of Elderslie, Two hundred and ninety four pounds two shillings and one penny six twelfths of a penny	£294.2.1.6/12

		The said commissioners by their Decreet dated the said third day of October One thousand seven hundred and eigthty six years authorised the following entry in the Cess books in the parish of Loquhinnoch Vizt.
		Barbowie alias Warbowie and Petersten and Coalhouse farms Sixty eight pounds six shillings and eight pence to be amended or explained, so as to bear Barbowie alias Warbowie and Petersten and Coalhouse farm part of Barbowie alias Warbowie	£68.6.8
		Parish of Paisley
		The said Commissioners by their Decreet dated the said third day of October One thousand seven hundred and eighty six years, ordained in place of the Article of Greenlees Auchinladmont Seventy three pounds six shillings and eight pence, an entry to be made in the Cess books bearing these two third parts of the five merk land of Auchinladmont held of his Grace the Duke of Hamilton, or Greenlees Auchinladment Seventy three pounds six shillings and eight pence	£73.6.8

This volume contains land tax information from the parishes of Renfrewshire in 1735, with alterations in 1803. These parishes include Cathcart, Eaglesham, Greenock, Inchinnan, Inverkip, Kilbarchan, Kilmalcolm, Lochwinnoch, Mearns, Neilston, Paisley, Renfrew, Eastwood, Killellan, and Houston.

Scottish Exchequer (Tax Records)

The Scottish Exchequer, and subsequently the Court of Exchequer, were concerned with the accounting of collected taxes in Scotland. These taxes include the Carriage tax (1785-1798), Cart tax (1785-1798), Clock and watch tax (1797-1798), Dog tax (1797-1798), Farm horse tax (1797-1798), Servant tax (1777-1798), Hearth tax (1691-1695), Horse tax (1785-1798), Inhabited house tax (1778-1798), Land tax (1645-1831), Poll tax (1694-1698), Shop tax (1785-1789), Window tax (1748-1798). Following the Consolidating Acts (38 Geo. III cap. 40 and 41), the duties on windows, inhabited houses, male servants, carts, carriages and dogs were incorporated in Consolidated Schedules of Assessed Taxes (1798-1799).
