		Parishes of Paisley and Neilston
		The Commissioners of Supply by their decreet dated the fifteenth day of January Seventeen hundred and eighty five proceeding upon the petition of Elizabeth Rosse Countess of Glasgow Appointed and ordained the two following Articles of Valuation in the parish of Paisley Vizt.
		Five hundred and ninety six pounds six shillings and eight pence annexed to Lord Ross's now the said Countess's lands of Hawkhead Dermontside and Temple lands Subdivided from Darnley and Temple lands of Dermontside And Four hundred and eighty two pounds six shillings and eight pence annexed to Lord Ross's now the said Countess's lands of Race to be altered and of new proportioned and allocated upon these lands as follows Vizt.
		Five hundred and eighty three pounds six shillings and eight pence to be stated as the valuation of the foresaid lands of Hawkhead and others above mentioned and four hundred and ninety five pounds six shillings and eight pence to be stated as the valuation of the foresaid lands of Race And appointed and ordained the foresaid Cumulo valuation of Five hundred and eighty three pounds six shilings and eight pence thus annexed to the said lands of Hawkhead and others to be divided and allocated upon the
		several parts of which the foresaid lands are composed in manner and according to the proportions after mentioned Vizt.

This volume contains land tax information from the parishes of Renfrewshire in 1735, with alterations in 1803. These parishes include Cathcart, Eaglesham, Greenock, Inchinnan, Inverkip, Kilbarchan, Kilmalcolm, Lochwinnoch, Mearns, Neilston, Paisley, Renfrew, Eastwood, Killellan, and Houston.

Scottish Exchequer (Tax Records)

The Scottish Exchequer, and subsequently the Court of Exchequer, were concerned with the accounting of collected taxes in Scotland. These taxes include the Carriage tax (1785-1798), Cart tax (1785-1798), Clock and watch tax (1797-1798), Dog tax (1797-1798), Farm horse tax (1797-1798), Servant tax (1777-1798), Hearth tax (1691-1695), Horse tax (1785-1798), Inhabited house tax (1778-1798), Land tax (1645-1831), Poll tax (1694-1698), Shop tax (1785-1789), Window tax (1748-1798). Following the Consolidating Acts (38 Geo. III cap. 40 and 41), the duties on windows, inhabited houses, male servants, carts, carriages and dogs were incorporated in Consolidated Schedules of Assessed Taxes (1798-1799).
