[County] of Fife, and after a rather tortuous course of some miles falls into the River Forth about 2 miles south of the village of Clackmannan. during the early part of its course it forms part of the boundary between the Cos. [Counties] of Clackmannan and Fife, and for a short distance prior to its confluence with the Forth it divides the parish of Clackmannan from Alloa. The banks of this stream are in many places high and precipitous, and for the most part, thickly wooded, its course is moderate, with a stony bed. A large portion of its water is diverted into an artificial channel, thence to a large reservoir for supplying the town of Alloa with that needful element. |

Ordnance Survey - Clackmannan county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Clackmannan, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
