031 | [Situation] 1 mile NW of Drumore A small neat farm house thatched and out houses some of which are slated with a farm containing 60 acres of good arable land together with a small farm called Core Hill of about 44 acres is attached. Occupied by Edward Kerr. The property of Colonel McDowall of Logan. Near to the south side of the farm house is a small field called Kirkfay. Tradition of the country people says that in this field there had been a church or graveyard probably both, the farmer when plowing turned up several graves with human bones & close the the side of a stream on the edge of the bank there is to be seen a grave with two thin flag stones set on edge & overlaid with a flat stone on top. |
