" James IV., by a charter
of the 23rd. January 1496.7,
gave a charter to Michael, the
abbot of Glenluce and the
Monks of the same monastery ;
Making the Village of Ballinclach, in the barony
of Glenluce, a free burgh
of barony for ever

This name applies to a portion
of the village of Glenluce
Bounded on the E. Side by a
Small Stream which passes on
the E. side of the church yard &
the King's Arms Inn & , the Seceder's
church 7, runs into the Lady Burn
on the north Side the boundary
becomes the South side of the
Church yard & thence crossing
the Street (Ch [Church] St. or Kirk Style) &
extending about 49 links to the
west of this Street from which
point it runs indefined through
a garden & crossing the main
Street & thence to the Lady Burn
the latter becomes the boundary
to the junction of the stream
