[Note below Road] This was one of the Roads made by Coll [Colonel] Rickson
under the direction of Genl. [General] Wade who constructed the
Highland roads.-The old Military road properly so called
was made to open up the Intercourse with the North of
Ireland thro' Galloway . It was executed between 1750 & 1760.
