Tradition states, the way it acquired this name, was, that a large stone stood Some Where in the locality having a hole in it, and in Which the Standard of the party in charge of the Young King James 5, Was fixed at the battle of Linlithgow Bridge. A small field West of the dwellings bears the Same Name. |
