050 | A broad and rapid stream which rises on the western side of the Shalloch on [Munnock] Hill flows North & East through several beautiful Lochs then N.W. [North West] S. [South] West passing in its course the villages of Straiton & Crosshill until it enters the valley of the Girvan at the junction of Lady Burn with it. In its course through Dailly Parish it passes several elegant seats; which are Kilkerran, Dalquharran Bargany, with several old Castles on its banks and finally empties itself into the sea at Girvan Its [many] tributaries in Dailly Parish are Lady Burn, Baldrunnan Burn, Lindseyston Burn & various others. |
