This is the Free Church school for the districts of Balvaird, and Muir's of Allangrange, and Conon It is attended by both male and female scholars, whose average attendance is 48. The house is of one storey in height, built of stone, and thatched. Mr A. Treasurer is the resident master, and Sir K. S. MacKenzie, Conon House, is proprietor This school is supported by Government grant the Proprietor and scholars fees

There are 2 large cairns of loose stones, apparently of ancient erection, one situated about 8 chains west of FC school, the other about 40 chains S.W. nothing being known concerning them in the neighbourhood.
