130 | A village in the western end of the Parish, it is feued off the estate of the same name, and is the property of Robert C.C. Graham Esquire. There are two churches, two schools, two Public Houses, a smithy and Post office in the village, the people support themselves chiefly by agriculture, and the adjoining woods. "A village & a quoad sacra parish on the southern verge of Perthshire. The village is situated in the peninsula of the rivers Asendow & Kelty. 1¾ miles above the point where they unite to form the Forth, in the quoad Civilia parish of Port of Monteith, ¼ of a mile from its boundary line with Stirlingshire.
