098 | [Situation] In the N.E. [North East] portion of Kinnoull (Det. [Detached]). An excellent Mansion on the Estate of Inchyra, in Kinnoull detached, about half a mile West from Glencarse House. It has Suitable offices, Garden and Ornamental Grounds attached. It is the Property of Mrs Crystall, and the Residence of David Watson Esq. |
| WITCH KNOWE (A TUMULUS) | Witch Knowe (a Tumulus) | James Powrie Gardener, Inchyra Ho. [House] Alexander McLaren Inchyra |
098 | [Situation] About 6 chains S.W. [South West] of Inchyra House. A Small Conical Knowe - evidently a Tumulus - in the grounds of Inchyra House and a short distance West from the Mansion House. The Gardener, James Powrie, informs me that he has been on the Estate, as Gardener for the last 42 years and that about 30 years ago, when trimming and reducing this Knowe, aided by several Workmen, preparing it for the growth of evergreens &c he removed several cartloads of Stones, Several Urns, and a quantity of Calcined bones, which leaves no doubt whatever of its being a Tumulus. |

Ordnance Survey - Perth county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
