074 | At the road side is a circular vallum of earth with an opening in the east side. It has all the resemblance of those circles on the Muir of Gormack, & of those near Percy. Lord Mansfield & Messrs Geekie & Stewart can form no idea of what it has been. Some of the people of the locality call it a Roman Camp. It is planted with Fir I think it probable that this has been a cairn of which the top has been hollowed out leaving it now a circular vallum |
