New Statistical Account Alexander Monteath, Esqr. Thomas Soutar, Esqr. |
095 | "The Gallow-Hill, a rising ground where criminals were executed, is a little to the west of Crieff, adjacent to a street which bears the same name. A stunted tree of no great age is now growing where the fatal beam was wont to stand in the memory of a former generation. And the timber of the identical gallows itself is still in good preservation. It is now the property of a lady in Edinburgh" New Statistical Account This knoll is nearly circular in shape, steep to the south, and falling off gently towards the north, and may be about twentyfive feet in height. |

Ordnance Survey - Perth county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
