142.10 | A remarkable column East from the Manse and is about 10 feet high with four steps at its base, and is elaborately carved with a vast number of geometrical figures of which there are said to be as many as the year has days. It has inscribed on it D H.M. 1626. As a Sundial it is now useless. A little West from this is a building - date 1684 - said to have formerly been an Inn and it is crossed on the trace. -> [arrow] Now converted into a School. |
