069 | This object is situated in the wood close to the side of the public road leading from Salen to Ulva etc, & at a part thereof about 1/4 of a mile N.E. of Kellon & about 2/3 of a mile S.W. from Killiechronan. No information can be obtained as to the period at which this place was used as a Burial Ground; but there can be no doubt that it was used as such previous to 1668, as the recollection of its existence was almost lost in the locality until it was revived a few years ago by the number of human bones found there after the ground had been torn up by the action of trees which were being dragged through it out of the wood. |

Ordnance Survey - Argyll county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Argyll, which is in the west of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
