020.02 | In 1813 the present Alexander Taylor's Father, when employed trenching a field called the Hungrils, turned up a large block of granite, scooped out something like a ladle, it had a large boulderstone over its mouth, and contained bruntashes, and some other sepulture remains. * *The block itself was embedded in rich black mould 3 feet deep, and the Knoll or hill, is composed of a gravel bank some 12 or 14 feet in depth; the cist in question was brocken to pieces, and no fragments of it can now be found. |
