016.14 | " The Druidical Circle stands upon a hill called " the Herscha". it is but a single Circle, about 25 yards in diameter, and Consists of 7 large boulders. It was carefully searched towards the close of the year 1855. but no vestige of early Sepulture was found within it." (Proceedings of the Antiquaries of Scotland.") Druidical Circle, very complete trenches were opened, up from North, South, and from east to west, accross the Circle but no bones, were discovered nor indeed anything of importance. J. Danson. |

This is Composed of rough Granite
Boulders which have evidently
been set on their ends, but are
now thrown down. There are Seven
Stones, but there apparently have
been more, as the formation of
the Circle and irregular distances
of the remaining stones would
