010 | This is a plain modern building which was built since the battle of Culloden, It is two stories high slated, and in good order, "Beaufort Castle, the residence of the Right Hon Lord Lovat, is a large and commodious but very plain building, having been originally intended only as a residence for the Government factor during the time that the Lovat Estate lay under forfeiture. It stands partly on the site of the old Fortress of Beaufort. Ordnance Survey - Inverness county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Inverness, which is in the north of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
