012 | This steeple stands at the corner of Bridge Street and Church Street. It was erected in 1791 and attached to the jail built at the same period but which has long since been replaced by an elegant pile of buildings consisting of shops and private residences. The steeple is a very graceful one, 150 feet in height, and in excellent condition. |
