004 | This Quay which is situated on the West bank of the river about half a mile from the town admits, at high water, vessels of 700 tons alongsde. Here the Aberdeen Steam Navigation Co. [Company] vessels as well as those of the Leith and Clyde Co. [Company] received and discharged their cargoes; as did also at a later period those of the North of Scotland Co. [Company] which discontinued sailing in 1864. It is still resorted to by many vessels. |
