The Parish of Rescobie is bounded on the North by those of Oathlaw Aberlemno and Guthrie, on the East by Aberlemno and Kirkden on the South by Kirkden Dunnichen and Forfar and on the West by Kirriemuir and Oathlaw. There is no detached part of another Parish situate within the limits here assigned to Rescobie nor is there a detached portion of that Parish within the boundaries of any other Parish. Consisting of two connected sections both of which are elongated and stretch from N.W. [North West] to S.E. [South East] they jointly form a very irregular outline - the Parish measuring about 10 miles in length and from ¾ to 2 miles in breadth has now been computed at about 6,724½ acres. The surface is much diversified and nowhere lies lower than about 200 feet above sea level - its greatest elevations [continued on page 2] |
