054 | This name applies to a splendid set of Buildings situated at the Western end of Bell Street and adjoining the "Police Chambers" and immediately in front of the "Prison" they were erected in 1863 and 1864 and the expense of erection was defrayed partly by assesment and partly by Government grant. the Buildings are used as Courts of Justice and it is here that the Circuit Courts are held in addition to those held by the Sheriff. the other portions of the Buildings are used as Witness Rooms, Judges and Jurymens Rooms and also the Procurator Fiscals Offices and Rooms. there is also a back Communication with the Prison.
