O.S. [Ordnance Survey] Milton
3rd Augt [August] /58

I attach extracts from the Lands
of the Lindsays, from which it
may be in ferred that a
Castle once stood at Carnegie.
This may be presumed from the
fact of the lands of Carnegie
having been at one time in
possession of the ancestors of
the Earl of Southesk.
See also the communication from
A Jervise Esq:, author of the
"Lands of the Lindsays" attached
to the Name sheet (45-7) on
which Carmyllie Castle is
described.

Ordnance Survey - Angus county

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Angus, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
