14A [Appended Item]
The following is the answer to a remark sent
out to the Examiner, respecting the Site of that building
in the old Orchard of Abden, and the road called Kings Gate
which is noticed in the New Stat. (Statistical) Acct. (Account)
"I have made enquiry from several intelligent parties in
Kinghorn respecting this Gate and building _ who say
they have never heard about it before. An old man
who is employed as labourer in the Orchard
informed me he found the foundation of a building when digging
here some time ago _ but the building referred to in
the Stat. [Statistical] Acct. [Account] has not been in existence in the
memory of very old inhabitants in the Town."

Ordnance Survey - Fife and Kinross counties
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the counties of Fife in the east of Scotland and Kinross in central Scotland. The boundaries of these counties were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
