[Quotation - Dunnikier] Lawson's Gazetteer has the following. "Pathhead a populous Village in the parish of Dysart, situated on the face of a hill overlooking the Firth of Forth, and extending to Kirkcaldy, of which it is a continuation, though included within the Parliamentary burgh of Dysart. It is divided into the districts of Dunnikier and St. Clairtown. The road to Cupar and Dundee passes through this village."
