[Situation] At the Nether Bow Port. S. [South] side of High St The offices of this extensive and old established firm are situated in Tweeddale Court, High Street, formerly the town residence of the Marquiss of Tweeddale and subsequently the British Linen Company's Bank. They are suitably fitted up with everything necessary for carrying on the printing & publishing business including a powerful steam engine The house inhabitted by the Tweedale family was built by Lady Yester who left it to her nephew John 2nd Earl of Tweedale Lady Yester was born in 1572 & therefore it is likely the house was built in the early part of the 17th century.
