Tumulus Situation On the West side of Martinwhat Rig.

This feature is also supposed to have been in existence previous to the occurrence mentioned in description. It is unreasonable to suppose that Lochwood would have formed a Tumulus -- his object as is stated being secrecy. It may, in the absence of definite authority be conjectured that Lochwood chose this mound, from the dread entertained by the people of disturbing these ancient relics.
