014 | [Situation] 2 1/2 miles N.W. [North West] from Durisdeer. A Farm house with offices garden and Farm attached. There is also the ruins of an old church of the same name near this place said to have been the Second reformed church built in Scotland. It is now in a ruinous condition being un-roofed. A Bell is still kept hanging on one of the gables which is said to have been stolen and taken to Glasgow but being known by the sound of it when rung it was brought back and put up in the place where it now hangs. |
