This place was formerly a stronghold, & as such was held by the Enemies of the King during the Rebellion of the Covenanters, it was erected by one Kirko in the year 1651. It was a good deal higher than it now is. The original Tower having been altered and repaired is now amalgamated with the more modern buildings of Sundaywell Farm consequently, causes a repetition in the Name. - |
