A ring of Stones some Standing & others lying flat on the ground with one large & high in the Centre & a few others outside the Circle, Several of the Stones are unhewn, While others shew Chisel marks - the latter I am in informed were brought there as Substitutes for Stones which had been taken away. The above lies within a Roman Camp, I could obtain no information about the Camp, but, I have no doubt of its being one and very possibly Roman. |
