Perhaps the correct orthography is
"Claaick", the farm referred to having
derived its Name from the Circumstance of
its Celebration of Harvest-home termed the
Claaick or Clawick.- This word is still in
Common use in Aberdeenshire; when harvest
is late this feast is termed Maiden Claaick
when late Carlin Claaick. -
