013 | Several clay urns containing human remains were discovered in opening quarry (for construction of the Railway bridges at Strichen) on north side of public road a little east of Newmill. A stone axe, broken in two pieces; one, on either side of an Urn, also a number of flint arrow heads, several similarly placed on either side of the urns, were also discovered. A portion of the above may be seen in the Aberdeen Museum. |
