023 | A Small fishing village, the property of Admiral Ferguson of Pitfour, Situated about half a mile N. [North] of Peterhead, extending from the public road to the sea. The houses are single storied and not a few in a dilapidated condition. It is neither paved nor drained, and consequently not over clean. A subscription School has been recently erected. It is also provided with a substantial pier, projecting into the Sea about 70 Yards, at which the boats discharge their loads of fish. |
