Pressing
OSO. [Ordnance Survey Office] Aberdeen
18th. May 1868.

Sapper White.
Please find out if Peterhead
be a Municipal Burgh as
well as a Parliamentary?
If it be, try to get either a
Plan, or a written description
of it, so that we may show
the Municipal Boundary
on our plans. If the
2 Burghs be co-extensive
it will be a very good job.
The Town Clerk will know.

O.S. [Ordnance Survey] Peterhead
19th May 1868

Sir
I most respectfully beg
to state that I went to the
Town Clerk this day, and
asked him if the Burgh of
Peterhead was a Municipal
Burgh, and he says it is,
and the 2 Burghs* are co-
extensive. I asked him
for the plan but he is not
willing to give it, though he
has given me permission
to make a traceing of it,
which I intend doing tomorrow.
The only written document he has,
he gave me to copy - copy sent herewith.
W.H. White Sapr. [Sapper] RE [Royal Engineers]

Ordnance Survey - Aberdeen county

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Aberdeen, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
