Poser 330 - Porteous and traistis roll of Ayr, 1679
This poser is taken from the Porteous and traistis roll of Ayr, 12 September 1679 (Crown copyright, National Records of Scotland, JC26/53/4, page 2), which forms part of the High Court of Justiciary processes. The porteous or portuous roll contained the names of the persons accused of a crime, whereas the traistis listed the crimes with which these were charged. This passage focuses on the crimes and does not name the accused.
The hand is rushed, but consistent in the way the letters are formed. Watch out for the letters s and k as well as for abbreviations.
