A parish in the counties of Aberdeen and Banff. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes). It was mainly in Aberdeen county, but part of the parish was a detached part of the county of Banff. In 1891 the Boundary Commissioners placed the entire civil parish in the county of Aberdeen.
