Grimsay (North Uist)

An island in the Outer Hebrides, in the parish of North Uist and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Grimisay. Not to be confused with the island of Grimsay in South Uist, or the island of Graemsay in Orkney.

Grimsay (South Uist)

An island in the Outer Hebrides, in the parish of South Uist and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Grimisay. Not to be confused with the island of Grimsay in North Uist, or the island of Graemsay in Orkney.

Uist presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in originally in the synod of Glenelg and later Ross, Sutherland and Caithness. The presbytery of Uist was severed from the presbytery of Lewis by the General Assembly in 1742.

Wiay (Uist)

An island in the Outer Hebrides, in the parish of North Uist and the county of Inverness. It was sometimes known as Vuiay, Wia or Buia. Not to be confused with the island of Wiay (Skye).
