Selkirk

A parish partly in the county of Selkirk and partly in the county of Roxburgh. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes). In 1891 the Boundarey Commissioners placed the parish wholly in the county of Selkirk.

Selkirk county

A county in the south east of Scotland, also known as Selkirkshire. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.

Selkirk presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. Selkirk presbytery was erected in 1581. It was in the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. The seat of the presbytery was moved to Melrose between 1607 and 1640. Several parishes were disjoined to form the presbytery of Earlston in 1619.
