A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Merse and Teviotdale, and was formed about 1929. In 1976 it united with Peebles to form the presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. Not to be confused with the earlier presbytery of Selkirk, whose seat was at Melrose between 1607 and 1640.
