Kirkwall and St Ola

A parish in the county of Orkney. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes).

Kirkwall presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Orkney. Up to 1707 it was sometimes known as the presbytery of Orkney or Old Orkney and covered all of the Orkney parishes, but at that date it parishes were removed to form the presbytery of North Isles. In 1725 it was divided again to form the presbytery of Cairston.
