Abernethy

A parish in the counties of Perth and Fife. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes). The boundaries of the civil parish were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891 and the parish was placed wholly in the county of Perth.

Abernethy and Kincardine

A parish in the counties of Inverness and Moray. It was a quoad omnia parish (a parish for civil and religious purposes). The boundaries of the civil parish were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891 and the parish was placed wholly in the county of Inverness.

Abernethy presbytery

A Church of Scotland presbytery. It was in the synod of Moray. Until 1709 it was united sometimes with the presbytery of Aberlour. In 1719 the presbytery of Aberlour was supressed and some of its parishes transferred to the presbytery of Abernethy. Aberlour was re-erected in 1727.
